Pollution standards should apply to mining companies
Doyle will require mining companies to operate under the same pollution standards as other companies, treating mining wastes as hazardous wastes and requiring mines to follow the same groundwater protection laws as other solid waste facilities.
Doyle will also enact a ban on the use of cyanide in mining.
